Crystal has finally resurfaced and basically shot the finger at those people that actually had a conscious.
I paraphrase (visit the site if you want to read her diatribe)
“To those of you who object to pedo stories being on Crystals, adios, don’t let the door hit you on the ass as you leave. Nobody cares about your opinion or your morals and you will be forgotten in a short time, drifting off in the ether.”
Well you get your wish, Crystal. Adios.
By the way, Anyone that thinks that she’ll actually delete your stories are sadly mistaken. Back in “2003” when I was writing under a different name, I requested several times that she delete my stories. Wasn’t done, 2004 came along I requested again. 2005 came along and I requested again, this time with a Board post as well. I was ignored. Now it’s 2010 and they are still there. Crystal says that she’ll get to it when she’s able. LOL Whatever! Seven years! and she still hasn’t gotten to it.
Adios indeed.

You and me both… oh wait! Dammit. Apparently I’ll be there forever, whether I want to be or not. It’s kind of like a horror movie, or a pedo horror movie in this case. Stuck in the house and can’t get out.
I think I’ll make it a point to bitch about it, somewhere, every single day, until they are taken off.
Kind of a countdown, except it would be a count up. I’ll have to find the original email that I sent her, of course. Maybe a cease and desist order would be in… order. But seeing as “I” originally posted my stories there, I don’t know how that would play out. I suppose I have only myself to blame.

There’s a name for women like her it rhymes with witch, I cannot believe her attitude – simply inexcusable, I don’t go to Crystal’s often, so no loss to me but it is really disgusting that sick minded individuals are making our favourite kind of literature into a sick joke – they ought to be ashamed of themselves – or possibly burned at the stake – I forget which.

Yeah, she used the Mindy cop-out (If someone murder’s somebody in a story, should we arrest them?)
Which is all and fine. It’s her site. She can do what she wants, blah blah blah. She only has herself to blame on this one. Like the Task Force, if she’d only came out and said “End the argument, this is the policy and I’m sticking to it.” Then all of this would have taken a much different tack.
But she admitted to sitting on her hands for a few days, letting the anger build up and the hateful things said between others on her board. Then she comes out and insults, name calls the authors that have morals and want their stories take off, and then tells them to take a hike because nobody will miss them.
“If any of you have ever ran a site, you’ll know how hard it is.” (paraphrased) Well, I have, and it’s not that hard. Here’s a helpful hint when dealing with problems. Nip it in the bud at the beginning. Don’t ignore people. Don’t drive away your audience by being a spiteful bitch if you don’t agree with them. Just explain your position/decision/policy and let them do as they will. Clamp down on the troublemakers if need be, afterward. Letting the problem metastasize will only make things worse.(Current case in point)
I can tell that she’s never been in management, or if she has/is then her employees hate working for her.
On another note: I sent an email off to DuPage, the server owners, in an attempt for them to forward my request for my stories from 2003 be deleted. No word back as of yet. If or when the board comes back up I plan on advertising this little tidbit there until it’s taken care of. And as of 7:46 am CST they are still there.

I understand that. When it first opened, kind of like FM it was… well not state of the art, but familiar and relatively easy. Now it’s fallen behind the times and is antiquated.
Erin and company have been coming up with some good ideas for BC recently and you can tell it’s becoming more popular. Heck, my stories used to stay up there for a week, now I’d be happy if they last three days before getting bumped off the front page.

I submitted one story there, then noted the pedao thing and got disgusted. Poor Karen Anne, she has no place to go now. It finally prompted her to get her own site, which is good IMO. But looks like TS/BC will have an exclusive for my work at this time. I WON’T post to FM, Crystal’s has made her opinion clear and I don’t go to any other sites.

I thought I had commented. In one of her diatribes she actually mentioned me by name and blamed me and “Another Disgruntled Author” for the site closing down. She mentioned in another bit of screed that she can keep stories on the site “in perpetuity.” Her allowing the story in question to be grandfathered in not only is unfair but violates her previous policy, which was less ’strict’ than the ‘new’ one. And her not removing stories is another violation of her own stated policy that the authors hold sole ownership. Baffling!
