Lilith Langtree’s – Chaos Magic

TG Fiction – Nothing is True and Everything is Permitted

Whoops!

FM has been taken off line. The following is a note sent to someone on behalf of the TF.

No one has commented on that, but since this afternoon (CET) FM was
disconnected by the current provider. The notification note was sent a
minute before end of the providers office hours and so far no one has
responded on the question for the reason and the request of reconnection.

Whoops!

I swear I had nothing to do with it. Remember, I’m lazy. Doing something about it would require me not to be lazy. That just ain’t gonna happen. Perhaps someone was soured about how the pedo thing worked out on one side or the other.

LOL, oh man, that was cold, SS. Yeah, when FM came back online it was pulling in some decent stories, but for the last few weeks it’s been nothing but porn or pedo crap, or the authors were posting on BC or Stardust.

Well That’s all well and good but there are plenty of authors whose work I can no longer view – I hope this is a temporary thing so I can read Morpheus, The professor and all the other decent authors there, maybe instead of disconnecting they should simply exercise the least bit of editorial competence and responsibility – I think the problem is they are even lazier than the esteemed Lilith.

I kind of got the idea, from reading that note, that it was turned off at the source. Like ‘whomever from the TF’ was notified that it was going to be turned off a minute before the host closed for business, and they(the TF)were out of luck trying to contact them until the next business day in Germany.

Maybe I read it wrong. It might all be a misunderstanding, or maybe they were late paying their bill, or maybe it was done on purpose.

The first thing that popped into my mind was that someone informed the hosting company that they had pedo porn on their servers.

Or maybe someone just got a bug up their ass and had the company turn it off. But with several people on the TF this wasn’t supposed to happen. It’s supposedly why the TF was formed in the first place, so that one person wouldn’t get ticked off enough to be able to do this.

Or it could be something completely different, totally unrelated to the past week’s events.

Anyone else get any different ideas from that note?

I posted a forum thread over at TG Comics – there are usually some clever lassies there that know what is going on.

It’s my impression that the German government may be stricter about portraying children in a sexual context. It’s possible there was a legal complaint, or simply a complaint to the ISP, which shut them down to be on the safe side.

OK – by the way FM is back and the particular author and stories that sparked the row have been removed – M still has a high crap to Quality ratio though.

Thanks for the link. Not really much that hasn’t been said already. I checked out the site itself to find out if they had a reason for why it was down. None, other than a vague insinuation that it was server issue. That is way to broad an excuse for me, but then again I’m not invested in the site and have no right to know the whys and hows.

What I want to know is why they removed Vail’s stories. That was never explained. The Pedo-rating is still in effect. So that couldn’t be the reason why. Was it because Vail had the stories pulled? If so then nothing has been solved.

So far, the anti-pedo people on the board are cheering this as a win. I see nothing that has changed and further see it as placating the sheep into thinking its a win. I’ve seen much worse stories posted there and double checked to see that… yes, they are still posted there. Recent stuff too, so that’s not an excuse.

Nothing’s changed, just whitewashed a little.

Yes, they have a new rating specifically for stories containing Kiddie abuse/pr0n, which to me is asking for trouble – they might just as well go to FBI HQ and ask if they could pretty please be arrested as paedophile monsters, oh and while you are at it arrest everyone else that ever visited the site.

This certainly seems to be the fear which prompted so much furore onthe mesage boards.
For the first time ever I decided to take a look at this pseudo forum thingie and got bored after a while, the usual mix of madmen and fools and wise innocents running around proclaiming that the Vault of heaven has cracked and the Deluge has begun again :) .

I doubt it will get as bad as some of them think but the Task Force could definitely get into trouble as they are as far as I know, legally responsible for the content of the site.
